Basic Suggestions About Writing and Article Marketing

Article writing has been popular for several years now; however, until recently article writing and marketing those writings online has been extremely undervalued. Article marketing can be a powerful marketing tool when done correctly. Writing and article marketing has become an effective and safe way to build natural links and back links to your web site. Article Marketing is a powerful way to increase your online presence and generate targeted traffic to your web site at the same time.

By providing relevant content and information about your business opportunity, can and will generate an incredible amount of targeted traffic. Avoid hard selling in your writings, especially if you want to keep your reading audience interested and hold the user's attention to the end of your writing.

I personally will not put any distracting hyperlinks in the content area of my writings. I reserve the author's resource area at the bottom of my article for that purpose, and include contact information and a couple of links pointing back to my primary business.

Basic Writing Guidelines

In today's article we want to share some basic guidelines regarding article writing and article marketing. You might feel that your writings are not up to standard compared to a professional writer. If you write from the heart and convey your thoughts to the reading audience you will touch the nerve of someone regardless of how you write. Someone will appreciate your style of writing because they feel the sincerity in your written comments. Don't try to use big words to embellish your writings with a lot of technical information. Keep it simple, concise and to the point. Your reading audience will appreciate your low key approach and sincerity.

Generating Articles

There are a couple of ways you can generate articles. 1) You could outsource your writings to professional writers. Finding a writer that knows your product or service, or is willing to research your business opportunity may be difficult to find. Be prepared to pay some high dollars for any out sourced articles. 2) No one knows your business like you do, so why not write your own articles. Learning to write could be compared to learning to walk. You didn't learn to walk in one day and run a marathon the next. The more you write the better at writing you will become. When I first started writing, I made a commitment to myself to write at least one article everyday for a year. In the first year I wrote 300 plus articles and did 65 videos which I wrote the copy for.

Now I write 1 or 2 articles per week and have written, published and promoted over 550 articles to date. Patience is a Virtue

Rome was not built in a day, so don't expect your writing skills to become as good as a bestselling author overnight either. It takes practice, patience and determination to make this whole process of writing, publishing and promoting before you may become comfortable with the art and science of writing. The best way to accomplish this feat is to make some form of a basic outline that only makes sense to you, and follow that format to the tee until you become totally comfortable and see some good results regarding your unknown talent of writing.

You must keep your readers attention to the end of your writing. Provide good information and your reading audience will return to your information site or blog often. You will soon build an avid following of devoted readers that will keep coming back frequently for your information. It's a good idea to use the outline we mentioned earlier so you can follow a train of thought that you're attempting to share with the readers.

Keep It Short and to the Point

Keep your paragraphs short and to the point so the readers can follow your writings with ease. Three to five sentences per paragraph is a good rule of thumb to follow. Say what you want to say and get on with your next thought. Give your readers enough information that will encourage them to click on your business links found in the authors resource area discussed earlier.

Make sure you provide your contact information in the resource box as well. You'll be surprised how many people will want to call just to make sure that you are a real person that they can talk to. These individuals become potential clients rather quickly.

Provide Features and Benefits

Provide your readers with some of the important features and benefits of your product or services. Your readers are interested in one thing and that is how your information will benefit them personally in their everyday life. Don't hesitate to provide research references supporting your opinions and comments.

Ask for the opinion of others about your writings. Take any criticism constructively and improve on your shortcomings in your next writing. You can put a comment section on each article to get a better idea of how the general reading audience is accepting your articles.


Keep your articles informative, interesting and entertaining. The more you write the better you will fine tune your writing skills. Keep in mind that if a person is bored reading your article, they will probably click off your writing and go somewhere else for their product or service of interest.
