Building a Web Site That Will Generate Outstanding Results
When building any web site there are some basic procedures that must be addressed to make your web site generate some outstanding results. Your site doesn't have to contain a lot of hype, flash, moving marquees or a lot of glitz and glitter to make it appealing to the reading audience. The search engines doesn't like the above mentioned elements anyway. You must optimize your site if you want the search engines to index your site and send potential buyers to your web site. Most of the people who are going to be visiting your site will come from the search engines anyway, but only if your site is properly constructed and optimized correctly for the search engines.
Just putting a quick site together and publishing it to the internet doesn't mean that potential clients will be breaking your door down to purchase your products or services. There must be some compelling reason why a user should buy from you and not your competitors. The only way the viewer can make that choice, is for you to have the right information included in the content of your site that triggers their desires to make that all important buying decision.
That part of the buying process doesn't just happen, it must be put together in a very methodical format so that your good information is conveyed to the potential customer as informative, non threatening and appealing to their needs and desires. It must be in such a way that the users determines he or she must have your product or service, they like your explanation of how that purchasing your item fills their needs and can they afford not to buy your product or service.
Every minute detail must be considered when building your web site. Think of your site as your only store and if your store front is not appealing then you probably won't get to many customers. On the other hand if you have an appealing well designed look to your store then you will at least get a few curious individuals who would stop by just to see what you have to offer.
What they see when they enter your store is a totally different story. If you have overpriced junk in your store your potential client will turn around and walk out of your store. The same thing is true with your online store. People are looking for value and if they don't see it in your web site then they will go somewhere else just like they would if you have a nice store on Main Street of your home town.
The old saying "You may fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all the people all the time" is so true when you're talking about building a successful online business.
When it comes to your website, extra attention should be paid to every minute detail to make sure it performs optimally to serve its purpose. Allow me to share with you some very basic ideas that you should follow when building a web site.
Don't start your project by building a welcome splash page, or where the first item the potential client sees is "click here" or "Click Here to Enter". What a turn off. Most people who are serious about your product or service want to get right to the point of what your site is all about and can it benefit them in any way. Forget putting some ridiculous, hyped up remark anywhere in your site that guarantees your viewer to make some unrealistic high dollar commission on what you're trying to sell if they only join your organization.
Don't give your visitor a reason to click the back button or X out of your site before going through all of your site information. Make your content clear about what your site is all about and in a well planned sequence of events that will lead the viewer to the last closing paragraph where you can ask for the order.
Keep your information factual, low keyed but powerful and avoid hype at all cost. We are dealing in a very busy and sophisticated buying online audience that doesn't enjoy a bunch of over inflated comments regarding what they are looking to buy. This is a competitive society and a good marketing process must be learned by the online marketer if they want to succeed online.
Avoid excessive banner advertisements. Using a banner or two probably won't hurt your chances of making a sale, however, it best not to use banners in your web site but can be used in some of your advertising medium you use such as emails, display ads and hand outs. Experiment a bit with some of these choices once you get your site up and running and optimized for the search engines.
Make your site easy for the user to navigate. Have a simple menu that even a child can follow. Avoid multi-tiered dropdown menus or flash. Whether it's a child or an adult, if your site structure is hard to follow, your user will click off your site quickly.
Avoid using audio on your site. Nothing turns a visitor off quicker than having a looping audio and they can't find the off button. The next step they will normally do is to click off your site very quickly. If you happen to like audio, make sure you place the volume or muting control in an obvious place where it is easily found by the user.
I trust these few helpful hints we've discussed today will help you in your online marketing challenges. If you need some mentoring or assistance don't hesitate to contact the eBiz solutions Team for a free 30 minute "no obligation" consultation.
