Combining Technology and Marketing Strategies

Many of today's successful marketers are including the latest technologies together with their current online marketing strategies and are seeing some unusual results. If your current marketing strategies aren't working like they used to, then you need to consider making some changes in your overall business tactics. If your current marketing promotions are doing well, that's great, however your might be able to improve your bottom line profits by considering incorporating some of the latest marketing innovations in to your current marketing efforts. One little tweak of your website could make a huge difference.

We're not talking about adding fancy bells and whistles on your website to make it more flashy and fun. What we're talking about here is technology that will help you increase sales and help grow your business. Sure you must make your site interesting for the users with maybe a little flash, pictures etc., however, as we've pointed out in some of our recent articles the search engines don't see flash, pictures, graphics, marquees, etc., they read text and content only. So where is that happy medium that will work for you and your existing business?

Technology designed to do some very specific functions can make a huge difference in your overall marketing efforts and can possibly be the difference between a successful marketing campaign and a complete failure for your current project. If you sell products, then there are some website enhancements that you may want to consider in your online marketing strategies.

It's advisable to have a least one picture of each item of your products with a clear and concise description of the product. If there's technical data and additional details that will help the end user make a decision to purchase the product, then by all means include such information. Opening the technical information on a different page may be a great help too. Make sure the user can click on the picture to enlarge the image. This will permit the user to see the picture clearer than in a thumbnail size for example. I've found that a 200X200 pixel photo with good resolution will show the details clear enough for the normal user.

This information is not all that technical, however, making the image more than a thumbnail photo and less than a 3X5 should work extremely well. Experiment a bit here and see what works best for you. The whole point here is for the user to be able to get a clear picture of the product and be as close as possible to picking up and examining the product physically in person. There are new and exciting affordable software programs available that will present the images in 3D and will make your presentation come alive and be even more powerful.

This gives the user the closest experience possible to see the product from all sides and angles with a click of the mouse. Being able to see the product in a virtual environment from all sides allows the customer to get involved with the product without interrupting their thought process of possibly purchasing your product.

By getting the customer as close as possible to the real items they are interested in purchasing, the more likelihood of you making that sale is going to happen. This is just one example of letting technology and marketing strategies work together which will give you a huge advantage over your competition. This information is not an endorsement or sales pitch for any particular product. This is just an example of how you can incorporate technology and your current strategies to enhance your business.

Screen shots have been used by many webmasters for some time now. Since adding pictures to your website doesn't require a great deal of technology you might consider adding some sound and video to your current website as well. This is especially true if you're selling a service. A warm friendly casual voice can go a long way in building a customer's confidence, building a relationship and then developing into a positive outcome with the potential client becoming your next best customer.

Small audio clips that the customer can listen to with simple steps on how to use your product or service can be an important part of your online marketing strategy. The combination of permitting a customer to listen and see exactly what you're talking about has been extremely powerful for my personal business.

There are programs out there that are simple to use that will take a advertisement or a complete article and display the text, play a mellow music in the background and do a voice over with a professional reader that is extremely powerful. These programs are affordable but not cheap, however, the power of a presentation of this magnitude is unfathomable.

One word of caution here would be NOT to have the presentation start playing immediately when the customer clicks on the website, email or article. Give the customer the courtesy to click the mouse and listen to your presentation only if they want to.

These are a couple of examples of incorporating technology and your current marketing strategies into a more powerful and effective marketing situation. Use your imagination plus do a Google research on what might work for you and your own business opportunity.
