Helpful Hints to Achieve Effective Marketing Results
If you're new to internet marketing and you want to become an online success, then there are some factors that one must be aware of which can make the difference between your success and failure on the internet.
The search engines are constantly changing their algorithms in an effort to level the playing field for all online marketers regardless of experience or advertising budgets. It's not how much money you have available to buy your way to the Top Positions On Google, Yahoo, Bing or other popular search engines, but it's how you implement the rules, regulations and algorithms of the search engines to your advantage. Today we want to share some of the most important factors that will affect your Google rankings for your web site or articles that you write.
The search engines love good relevant content and if you write good content your site will move steadily to higher and higher search engine rankings. It's imperative that you have a couple of your main keywords in your title, Meta description and keywords in your source code as well as having your keywords strategically placed throughout the content area the user view of your web site or article.
There are different opinions on what percentage of keywords you should use in your writings. Some experts suggest from 1-3% ratio of keywords to total word content while other consider between 3-5% as a correct balance of keywords to total word count. Your writings should include your keywords in the natural flow of information in all your writings. In other words the keywords should sound like they belong in that writing and not sound out of place when someone reads your content. It's permissible to use tags of H1 thru H6, italicize or bolding for your keywords within your sentence structure for more effectiveness.
It's also permissible to use keywords in your links. It's recommended to use keywords in the naming of image files or Alt tags as well. Make sure you properly use keywords in your Meta Tag description. These are all important suggestions if you want to make the most of your marketing endeavors.
Google, Yahoo, Bing and other fine search engines put a lot of weight on the use of links on your web pages and reward you accordingly with good rankings. You can overdo it here, so be very cautious and understand what is acceptable and what may be considered as a detrimental to what you're trying to accomplish in your marketing efforts. Incoming links often referred to as back links will help your marketing efforts immensely, especially if those links are from high page ranking sites.
The content of the site where your inbound link is coming from should match your page content for best results and search engine consideration for higher page rankings. The age of the incoming links is also a consideration when the search engines calculate the value of the incoming links. Many times links that are not aged for 3-6 months may not even be considered or counted. One way links will probably get more consideration from the search engines that reciprocal links.
Links coming from pages with fewer outgoing links sometimes will generate better results with the search engines than links coming from pages with 100's of links. This is one element of marketing that more is not necessarily better. If you don't understand some of these issues being discussed in this article it's advised that you do a Google Search and study the issue so you can make it blend into your unique methods of marketing. There are certain things you must not do when optimizing your web site or writings.
Using the same keyword over and over again will be considered by the search engines as repetition and the engines will reduce the value of your site, and this one issue can affect your overall page ranking considerably.
Hiding content is a NO/NO and will get you censored or expelled from the internet rather quickly. In other words don't make any text the same color as the background color of your site. Always remember the font size of your text should be readable by the viewer. Using a H6 font size is a good rule of thumb as a minimum font size you should consider.
Redirects can be a detriment to your page rankings, especially Java Script redirects. Study this particular issue before your go too far in your marketing efforts to avoid serious repercussions.
Cross linking a number of sites within the same network can get you into a lot of trouble, so be sure you understand how to use linking before you do something stupid and get yourself into a bad fix with the search engines.
Doorway pages are powerful if used correctly. Pages that are specifically written for the search engines but can't be found by the user using normal navigation procedures can quickly get you in a world of hurt with the engines, so make sure you understand this process thoroughly, or don't use doorway pages at all.
Avoid using article re-writers at all cost. Most of the engines have duplication filters in place and will quickly pick up on duplicate content. Pharmacy, Casino and Adult content are all red flags for the search engines so use good judgment in your choice of what you get involved in promoting.
Most of us have heard of the Google Sandbox but few have ever researched what this term is all about. It has to do with the age of your domain. Search engines view domains that are 6 months old or less in a totally different light than aged domains are viewed. Do a Google Search for "Google Sandbox" and understand this concept if your domain is less than 6 months old and going nowhere.
Avoid participating in link farms and services just to avoid a little bit of work or to artificially increase your popularity. The engines frown on link farms and may expel you or penalize you severally. It's not whether they will catch you using link farms, it's a matter of when they catch you, and believe me they will catch you and not much latitude is given if they decide to punish you. Allow me to give you a simple word of caution; don't even consider taking a chance of being censored for using link farms. It's not worth the risk.
These suggestions for consideration have been a brief overview of some of the things to do and not to do to get the best results for your marketing efforts. Use them wisely.
