How To Build an Effective Powerful Keyword Rich Web Site

The correct Title Tag of your keyword specific article or web site is possibly the most important element of your site when it comes to Optimization with the search engines. This is one of the first things the search engine spiders will look at when they crawl your site for indexing. The title tag is also important to the reading audience, because the title must contain relevant copy, so it's captivating enough to spark a glimmer of interest within the first few micro seconds or the reader will click off your site and go elsewhere.

If your web site has multiple pages, it's important that each individual page has its own keyword rich title tag describing the content of that particular page. When putting together a web site or keyword rich articles, certain elements of the site are important to the search engine, especially if you want to be seen on the internet when a search query is made containing one of your keywords. In this article, we will be specific about some of the elements that one must address when writing, that will please the reading audience as well as the search engines.

Optimization of your source code is for the search engines use. The more optimized your site is, the quicker the spiders can index your page in their huge database for future references to your keywords when a user query is made. In this writing we are talking more about the optimization process which include a number of elements one must include for maximum effectiveness. In one of our recent articles we discussed in great detail what all the search engines are looking for in regard to optimization. We also discussed what the engines are not interested in, and have nothing but negative values regarding your site with the engines. A few of these examples include such things as Java Script, glitz, glitter, hype and keyword stuffing, just to name a few.

Another important inclusion is the use of Alt Tags. Most of the search engines now require that all images include an Alt Tag or they will not index your site. Since images don't appear in text browsers, it's important you include the alt tags which will tell the user what the image is about. The Alt Tags should include two or three words including a relevant descriptive keyword.

The engines look closely at your keyword density. The engine recommendations must include one keyword in the title, one in the heading tag and one in bold text. There are varied opinions on the density ratio one should consider. A good recommendation to follow by some of the leading optimization programs suggest that you should consider between 3-6% ratio of keywords to your total word count. It is recommended that you do some personal research on exactly what will work for you. One word of caution here (don't overdo it). Make sure you include your keywords in your opening paragraph of your writing as well in the closing paragraph.

Often I'm ask the question; "How many words are considered as an acceptable page on my web site or article?" In my research I've concluded that anything less than a thousand words is acceptable with most search engines, article directories and forums. Other reports I've researched say "no more than 500 words should be used." The main thing here is to write good copy until you are comfortable with the content of your site or article, and make sure the content flows well when you proof read your writing. Ask yourself the question; "does the content make sense, and does your writing explain what you're trying to promote."

Link popularity is one of the most powerful ways to achieve search engine recognition. Many of the search engines will not consider indexing a web site that doesn't include links. A well balanced site will include inbound, outbound and cross linking. It's recommended that you study and become familiar about the value of linking and back linking. Feel free to review some of my other articles regarding linking. Be cautious when exchanging links thru any link exchange offer. Many will convince you that they are exchanging links with you, however, in a couple of days they delete your link and now the only link that's of any value is your link pointing to their site. It may be good for them; however, it may not be good for you. There are programs available that will help you monitor this process, which will help resolve this issue. Get informed before you consider reciprocal linking.

In Summary: Your Title Tag must be keyword specific and relevant to your presentation. Your optimization must be acceptable to the search engines and must be easily understood by the reading audience as well. You are required by the engines to include ALT Tags on all images. Your site must comply with the rules and guidelines of the search engines regarding keyword density, relevancy, prominence and placement. Linking is an area of optimization that is often overlooked, however, linking is without a doubt the most important aspect of optimization for your long or short term success on the internet.
