Keyword Strategies for Your Site or Articles
There are many ways you can make money online. After all isn't that what most people think internet marketing is all about? There are certain things that one must consider when promoting online if they want to maximize their marketing efforts. Today we want to talk about some basic steps that will help you to make your online experience easier, more effective and rewarding from day one of this amazing online journey.
We need to talk about the necessary elements to make a site acceptable to the search engines and still keep the website attractive and interesting to the users. One of the main elements in building a website is to use keywords that are properly placed within your web site. You must make sure the density kof your keywords is in proportion to the overall word content of the content of your site. We will discuss this issue a bit more later on in this article.
We must understand what is considered a keyword in a website or marketing article that you've written and want to share with the general public. A keyword is a word that best explains your current online promotion. The term "Leads" is one example of a good keyword. You can use that keyword several times in your site or article, however, you must make sure you don't over use the words or you will be penalized by the search engines for spamming.
When a search engine spider is sent to index your web site they are searching for keywords that best describes what your site is all about. The purpose for this information is simple. When a person "Googles" a particular keyword or keyword phrase, the search engines will use the information that was indexed from your site by the spiders and the engines will then display the best site that best meets the needs of the search query. You don't know where your site will rank so you have to put forth every effort to make your site attractive to search engines so your site will be as high in ranking as possible.
We mentioned earlier that you shouldn't overuse a keyword too often in your site or article. Some experts say that you should keep your density to about 5-7% of your total word count. Others say you should use no more than about 3% keyword density to be effective. This will vary depending on your site or the articles you will be writing. An example of this would be as follows ... If your total word count is 800 words for example, then your keyword density should be 40 to 50 keywords placed throughout the article using the 5-7% ratio. If you're using the 3% ratio then about 25 words would be sufficient.
Keyword density and placement are critical parts of optimizing your website or articles for the search engines. The search engine spiders will scan a page in a way that makes it impossible for the spiders to not detect and recognized your keywords and phrases. The information from these scans are then store in the engines databases and used to page rank your website or article.
Optimizing your website or article is important to a successful marketing campaign. You need to learn this process and follow the rules and guidelines of the search engine at all times. Be very cautious about over-optimizing your site. You don't want the search engines to nail you for keyword stuffing.
When you stuff keywords and phrases in your website or articles the spider will detect this very quickly and think you're trying to trick the engine so your site or article will have better ranking with the search engines. Keyword stuffing is frowned upon and search engines will penalize you to the point of banning your site from the internet, so be very careful here. If you don't know what you're doing, then seek the help of a professional marketer who specializes in optimization strategies.
Stuffing may even affect the rankings of your other pages or get your site blacklisted from a particular search engine if you're caught keyword stuffing too often.
You can find hundreds of resources and guidelines recommending one keyword density over another and the reasons behind the logic, however, in the end you will have to determine which density works best for you and what is more profitable for your website or articles.
Each webmaster has their own density recommendation that they like to achieve based on past results. As long as you don't over optimize and your page rankings are good it becomes your choice of what keyword density works best for you.
One helpful hint here would be regarding the placement of your keywords and phrases to get the best exposure from the search engines. For whatever reason the search engines will give more credence to keywords in the first few sentences of your site or article as compared to later on in your writings.
Constructing your web site or article and using the right keywords, making sure the positioning of your keywords or phrases and making sure the density is within the recommended limits will make your site more search engines friendly and your site or article should rise in the search engine results and when this happens you will be seen by more users.
The more visitors to your site the better chances of making a sale. It's a natural progression of events that happens with the search engines if you've do this whole process correctly.
