The Right Keywords and Phrases Generates Business

Keyword selection is one of the main components of a well optimized web site. As a Search Engine Optimization Specialist there are many times I will spend more time finding good relevant keywords for my marketing campaign than I'll spend actually tweaking and publishing the information to the web. Many marketers don't put enough effort into preparing for a marketing campaign and then can't understand why they are having little to no success in their marketing efforts.

Keywords and keyword phrases in the search engines data base is what is used to match the keywords that a user types in the search bar when the user is requesting information about a given product or service. This is how the search engines are able to drive potential customers and massive amounts of traffic to your web site.

The search engine spiders gather keywords from your source code and content of your web site and if your keywords and keyword phrases are non-existent in your actual website content, or not relevant to the query being made then your site will not show up on the search results for the user. I think you are beginning to see the importance of having good relevant keywords listed in your source code as well as in your site.

This whole marketing process begins by choosing keywords, long tailed keywords and phrases carefully right from the beginning of each marketing campaign. Otherwise your efforts are not going to produce good results, now or in the future. In fact, your efforts will probably not develop to anything at all, will remain stagnant plus take up space on the internet.

Keywords must be viewed as your doorway to the internet. Good keyword usage will unlock that door rather quickly. As we've pointed out in some of our previous writings, you must build a good foundation and then carefully and methodically build your web site using every method at your disposal to compile an effective marketing strategy. Even then, it's going to be a work in progress as long as you're online. If you're just using the internet for fun and keep in touch with your friends, then it doesn't really matter what you do.

With the economy being down right now, this is NOT the time to cut back on your promotional efforts. By keeping up the promotional pace now, you'll be positioned to rocket to the top of the charts when the market turns around. Those who snooze now will loose when the turn around does happen. If you don't maintain your progress in your goals, actively cultivate a workable business plan, continue to build a good foundation for your business, then everything else is just a waste of time and efforts when it comes to marketing your opportunity. Have a plan and work your plan is critical to your online success.

This whole process of building your future starts with the right keywords as we previously stated in this article. There are some good keyword generation tools online that will simplify this whole building process considerably. Do a Google search and see which keyword generator fits your particular needs. Be prepared to spend some money here. One of the most popular generators I consistently use is the Google Keyword tool which gives you a good bases for what people are looking for in today's marketplace. By using this tool you will find which keywords and phrases are popular right now and are being searched for in the worldwide arena as well as what is being searched for in the US marketplace. This information source is extremely powerful and best of all - it's free. Most other keyword tools is going to cost you some money.

You probably already have an good idea which keywords you want to use before actually using the Google Keyword tool, and that's OK. Once you type your keywords into the Google tool you can see if you're even on the right track or whether some other keyword or phrase may be better suitable for your particular keyword needs.

Think outside the box a bit here. Ask your family, friends and business associates what words or phrases they might use if they were interested in your particular product or services. You will be amazed at some of the terms and words they will share with you. This is a tremendous help and you can get this information for free as well.

Many times when you're the one who conceived the marketing idea for your next big venture, you might find it hard to be objective about the best choice of keywords to use. Think of it this way. Just what would a potential client look for if they were looking for help to solve their immediate specific needs? What you feel may be important here may have no relevancy to what the potential client has in mind.

You may accumulate a hundred different keywords and phrases that's' OK too, because in your keyword evaluation process you're going to be narrowing your choices down to just a few keywords anyway. You only need about 10 to 15 laser focused keywords to become a powerful marketing force on the internet.

In this whole keyword process you need to ask yourself a couple of critical questions. How popular are my keywords and can I make them more popular with my current promotional ideas? Are my keywords and phrases specific to my business opportunity and will the final keywords I choose motivate anyone to make that all important choice to do business with my company? Remember that sales equals money. No sales equals NO money.

It's important to remember that you're attempting to appeal to the online user as well as the search engines in this part of your keyword building process.

In summary: The keywords you choose can make or break your chances for online survival. You have a hugh responsibility of finding and using keywords that the user will type in the search bar of their favorite search engine to find a product and service and still be acceptable with the search engines. Your work is just beginning and will require a constant vigil of monitoring, testing and tweaking of your web site as well as every marketing campaign that you put together in the future.

It may sound like a lot of work and you're right - it is. This whole process is not for the faint of heart. Only the strong will survive.
