The Values of Search Engine Optimization
When you build a web site and upload it to the internet, that's just the beginning of your online journey and doesn't mean that you're going to get any traffic to your site. There are literally billions of web sites, forum and blogs that are competing for each users business 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. How can one site take off and be so popular and other sites may even disappear on the internet? The answer is really quite simple.
Without doing some degree of optimization to your web site your site will remain stagnant and may never be seen on the internet by the users. There are specific reasons why this occurs, which we will discuss later on in this article.
Most individuals don't want to take the time to learn the process of optimization and many of the newcomers don't even know that there's such a thing as search engine optimization.
Search engine optimization which is often referred to as "SEO" must be considered as a pre-requisite for any successful marketing campaign or website who wants to earn "Top Positions on Google, Yahoo, Bing or other popular search engines. There are countless benefits that will automatically occurs when you optimize your opportunity that will help you earn top positions on the search engines whether it's with regard to advertising and/or marketing.
Failure to optimize your work will make your online journey seem like a continual uphill grind. In the long run you will lose a considerable amount of time, money to say nothing about the amount of hard work you're going to have to do and possibly still not get the job done.
Optimization will help your web site gain popularity with the search engines as well as the users. Optimizing your site will have an impact on your advertising, posting to forums and blogging. All of these elements are part of the overall activities that you must do in order to earn good page rankings with the engines.
Let's talk for a minute about what Search Engine Optimization is all about. SEO includes a number of different strategies which are designed to earn a favorable ranking with the various search engines on the internet. This whole process is designed to perform like a well tuned orchestra and to produce a web site that meet most all the various algorithms of the search engines online today.
If you are successful with earning Top Positions on Google, Yahoo, Bing and some of the other popular search engines then you will start seeing targeted traffic coming to your site.
Some of the elements that should be considered when optimizing must include a keyword rich title, a short description of what the site is all about and of course your keywords. In this process you should also be concerned about the keyword density, prominence of your keywords and phrases, Meta tags and proper linking strategies.
Each site is totally different in purpose and construction. You must be able to compile a good looking web site for the user's enjoyment as well as meet all the items we discussed above regarding the search engines.
One of the most common mistakes that individuals make is to just list dozens of keyword and phrases that have little to no relevancy to the website. Just remember that the more keywords you use the more diluted each of your keywords becomes. I would rather have 10 powerful relevant keywords on my site than hundreds of so called keywords with only a few of those keywords being relevant to my web site.
Search engine will be more likely to reward websites with the keyword density optimized correctly than one that has numerous keywords that do not appear in the content area of the web site.
The prominence of the keywords and phrases must also be considered and are extremely important. This part of the process is addressing how close the keywords are placed not only in regard to the beginning of the web site but how many times those keywords are positioned within the content area.
When the robots come to visit your site they are looking for keywords that can be placed in the search engine data bases for comparing your keywords to keywords the users place in the search bar when they are doing a search query. Whatever site contains keywords that the engines feel best matches from their data base to those keywords from the users search query will appear on the search results for the user to consider.
A search engine doesn't look at the front side of a web site like the users do. The engines look as only the source code of the site which appear to most people like a foreign document. Each one of those weird looking characters in the source code mean something to the search engines so everything has to be perfectly in place for the engines to rank you high on their results page.
Those individuals who understand this process will have a huge advantage over those who don't know anything about code or just don't care to learn. If you feel you are a bit challenged in this part of the process, the eBiz Solutions Team is standing by to assist you in your marketing challenges.
Linking is also a vital element in this whole process. Linking can be extremely powerful with the search engines if done correctly. Inbound links are important because an inbound link actually resides on another web site and is pointing to your site. This will direct traffic to your site and will help you in your link popularity. You might want to review some of my articles about linking which will help you to understand the various types of links and their functions.
The SEO suggestions discussed in our article today is just a brief summary of things you can do to improve you search engine rankings. SEO is so important especially if you want to succeed online. Some engines will only visit ranking web sites if they are looking for a specific keyword or phrase.
The users of the internet put a huge amount of trust in the search engines because this is the easiest way to get valuable information about a particular subject matter. Most individuals will only review the site that the engines recommend on page one of the search results. Once in awhile you will talk to someone who may go thru the first two pages and them go somewhere else trying to find answers to their interest.
This simply means that the sites which rank well enough to be on page one or two of the search query results are going to receive the bulk of the business from the search engines.
Owners of those web sites who have taken the time and efforts to optimize their sites will be rewarded handsomely for their efforts by earning good page rankings, generating more traffic to their sites and have the opportunity to make more conversions to sales than those who don't take the required action to make it all happen.
