Advertising Alone Doesn't Work-Advertising and Marketing Together Does Work

If you want to advertise....take out a series of classified ads. However, if our want to sell your products or services...learn how to market your opportunity online. A well balanced combination of advertising and marketing works very well. This is a process you must learn if you want to be successful on the web.

If you have something to sell, your first thought is probably....how can I advertise my product. Advertising doesn't work by itself.....marketing does. There is a big difference in advertising and marketing. For example; you have a product you want to sell. The first thing you do is to take a picture....and list all the features of your product. Makes no difference whether you use the newspaper, magazine or online it is still simply advertising. Most of the time you won't generate much interest with advertising. To emphasis this point...In a recent survey conducted by the National Association of Realtors revealed that less than 5% of buyers of real estate found ads helpful in selecting a house.

Advertising focuses on a "product or service", where marketing involves target marketing consumers who are interested in changing their lifestyle and participating in the opportunity provided by what you are offering.

Individuals who are interested how your business opportunity will benefit them directly. People are not interested in all the nuts and bolts of how it works. Results is what counts. Marketing is so much more effective than advertising. However, a combination of the two works extremely well.

There are programs designed to help you market your business opportunity. The main thing to remember is....never put a time limit on your marketing campaign. Be persistent and consistent with your relative content about you product or service, however, change your mentality from advertising only to a combination of advertising and marketing for maximum efficiency. You will see a dramatic change in the response from people and businesses you are targeting with your products or services.

In your marketing quest....you should always be aware of the category of individuals your marketing to. An example of this is....if you have a service you are trying to promote....you wouldn't target market people who have opted-in to the category of electronics unless your service would benefit someone in the electronics category.
